Crafting Timeless Antler Masterpieces with Passion and Precision

Our Story: Bringing Antlers to Life

At AR & R, our journey is as unique as every antler we restore or replicate. It all began when Larry Lehman first dabbled in the world of taxidermy at his brother’s business, never imagining that his keen eye for detail and natural artistry would evolve into a full-time passion. Starting in his basement before moving to a custom-built barn in Nappanee, Indiana, Larry has since dedicated himself to crafting treasured keepsake antlers for over 20 years.

Every day, Larry immerses himself in his work—with an airbrush in hand, he transforms a recently molded set of deer antlers into lifelike masterpieces. Each project is a labor of love: from creating a precise mold using a special blend of latex and silicone rubber, to curing and crafting a “mother mold” with a unique plastic material that holds everything in place. With just minutes to pour his specially formulated urethane mixture into the mold before it hardens, Larry’s meticulous process ensures every detail is captured flawlessly.

Whether he’s repairing cracks, mending broken tines for deer breeders in the fall or replicating entire sets for hunting partners to share, Larry’s commitment to quality shines through. Assisted by his wife Mary—whose steady hands and supportive presence have been integral to every project—Larry carefully hand-paints each replica, breathing life back into antlers so that they become indistinguishable from the original.

Today, Larry proudly restores or replicates nearly 40 sets of antlers a year, each piece a testament to his passion and skill. He delights in seeing the excitement on his customers’ faces when their treasured antlers are revived, and he’s always eager to share his expertise at trade shows like the United Deer Farmers of Michigan (UDFOM) convention and NADeFA. At AR & R, every antler tells a story, and we’re honored to help preserve your legacy one masterpiece at a time.
